It is suspected that over 100 thousand euros were misused in a kindergarten in Pristina, one person is arrested

Two people have been interviewed by police, with one of them taken into custody following investigations into suspected misuse of public funds at a preschool in Pristina.

The Police statement states that the investigations were conducted by the Regional Unit for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption, regarding suspicions of misuse of public funds in the aforementioned preschool institution.

"During the investigations, evidence was obtained showing the compilation of fictitious lists of subsidies for children who did not attend the institution, causing significant financial damage. The suspicions also include irregular withdrawals of money and the purchase of electronic devices without justification of institutional needs," the announcement states, reports the Telegraph.


Police say the damage caused could reach over 100 euros. They say two suspects have been interviewed, one of whom has been taken into custody.

"Investigations are continuing to determine the responsibilities and exact amounts of damage caused, which could reach over 100 thousand euros. Two suspects have been interviewed and one of them has been remanded in custody for further legal proceedings. The police remain committed to the fight against corruption and economic crimes, cooperating with justice institutions," the announcement states. /Telegrafi/
