Trump plans to deport 200 Ukrainians

The administration of US President Donald Trump is considering a plan that would deport approximately 200 Ukrainian citizens from the United States.

This would be done with the help of funds earmarked for foreign aid, it reported. Washington Post based on the draft internal documents at its disposal.

During President Joe Biden's term, Ukrainians and Haitians received temporary protected status, which allowed them legal residence in the US, as they could not safely return to their home countries.

But with the return of the Trump administration and the tightening of immigration policy, the situation is changing. Trump had previously announced the launch of "the largest deportation program in American history," with the aim of removing between 15 and 20 million migrants from the country.

According to the draft documents, the plan was developed following the Department of Homeland Security's statement on May 5 that migrants who voluntarily return to their countries would be able to receive financial assistance of $1000.

In addition to Ukrainians and Haitians, the documents also mention Afghans, Palestinians, Libyans, Sudanese, Syrians and Yemenis as possible targets of future deportations. /Telegraph/
